Monkeying Around
London Zoo has humans on display in an effort to demonstrate animals and humans are not all that different.
"Seeing people in a different environment, among other animals ... teaches members of the public that the human is just another primate," the Zoo's spokesmonkey said.
Clearly, Psalm 139 had no bearing on this exhibit.
For You formed my inward parts; You wove me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made.
Much less, Genesis 1:28.
God blessed them; and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply, and fill the earth, and subdue it; and rule over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”
But after reading one of the participants comments...
"A lot of people think humans are above other animals...when they see humans as animals, here, it kind of reminds us that we're not that special."
...I begin to think that evolution may in fact be true, only it's working in reverse. (via SomeGuyNamedScott who was reminded of a Twilight Zone episode while reading this piece.)
